About Eric Thompson
Eric Thompson is licensed to practice law in Colorado, Wyoming, Utah and New Mexico. He received his J.D. from the University of Wyoming, College of Law. Prior to attending law school, Eric graduated from Regis University with a double-major in Business and Economics.
Eric began his legal career at Akers & Thompson LLC, formerly Akers & Associates LLC, in January of 2010, was promoted to partner in July of 2015, and remained in that position through the firm’s closing in 2024.
His practice has focused primarily around oil and gas law in the Rockies, including mineral title examination on federal, state, Tribal/Indian and fee land, the acquisition and divestiture of leasehold and mineral properties, as well as service, joint operating, farmout, Communitization, and unitization agreements.
Eric’s practice is committed to serving energy clients in the Rocky Mountain region. Given his dedication to the mountain states, he is particularly passionate about Federal, State and Tribal mineral estates.
He is a member of the Denver Association of Oil and Gas Title Lawyers, Denver Association of Professional Landmen and Wyoming Association of Professional Landmen.
